how is telling women to take responsibility for their own actions victim blaming? Use your fucking head. If you’re going to walk into the dirtiest part of the city dressed like a hooker, don’t get mad when men think that you’re a hooker. Like honestly. How hard is that one to figure out?
Because prostitutes and other sex workers aren’t women who are also deserving of our protection, activism and agency as feminists, right?
Do you even fucking hear yourself?
A woman can dress however and wherever she wants. So what if someone thinks she looks like a prostitute? So what if she is a prostitute? Prostitutes are not rape puppets. Engaging in sex trade does not devalue a woman to subhuman status and absolutely fucking does not license a man to commit rape.
The only license a man has when he sees a woman he thinks is a prostitute—the only license he has—is to ask her if she’s working.
“Take responsibility for [your] own actions,” you say. “Don’t get mad when men think that you’re a hooker,” you say.
This is victim blaming. This is rape apology. And you should be fucking ashamed of yourself.
